They Made It!
Friday evening of July 29, some of our children were dressed in their best and together with us, celebrated the most-awaited Baan Phraporn Sewing Project’s graduation ceremony held at the Function Room of Rattanakosin Hotel in Chiangmai city.
Thirteen (13) out of fifteen (15) young ladies, mostly from hill tribes, completed the requirements of the one-year Basic Dressmaking Course under the loving guidance and instruction Khun Mae Kanchana.
We were blessed to see some members of the family of these girls, our friends and co-workers in the ministry who came and supported us. And we are especially thankful to God because some Thai Christian leaders who believed in what we do graced the occasion.
This is the 2nd batch of graduates from our Baan Phraporn Sewing Project. This year’s batch was mainly funded by the Canadian Embassy’s CANADA FUND, which was implemented by the Operation Blessing Foundation (Thai). Other donations came from individuals and ministry friends.
This special course is given yearly in Baan Phraporn to give poor hill tribe girls the opportunity to have a new and better life. It also intends to empower these young women help themselves and become contributing members of society by teaching them a marketable skill.
